Ray bought his Capri 1600L Mk 1 on 25th October 1971 from KT Motors in Dartford, Kent who were Ford Main Dealers. The car cost £1070 and he decided to have Rostyle wheels and a vinyl roof rather than buy the more expensive 1600XL.

There was some debate in the family about the colour and eventually they agreed on Electric Blue which looks really good with the black vinyl roof.

His daughter drove it for a while in the 1980s and at this time the registration 987 TKR was transferred on to it.

The car was put into storage in 1986 until August 2018.  It’s then undergone a full restoration and DVLA were persuaded to allow the car to revert back to its original number.  At storage the mileage was 35865.
