The baking hot British summer continued and, although not reaching the highs of a week earlier, the temperature did rise into the low 30s. Nevertheless, old Fords of all shapes, descriptions and ages – along with matching owners – ventured along to this wonderful show, organised by the Y&C Register and Side Valve Owners’ clubs. It truly is a great event, especially for the Ford enthusiast. I’m not sure what its age cut off is but somewhere around 1990, and therefore it isn’t swamped, as some Ford shows are, by the lovely but very modern RS and ST Focus’s and Fiestas.
I spotted – and photographed – 17 Mk1s at the event. There may have been more – apologies to anyone there whom I didn’t capture on camera.
