The weekend of Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July saw the Club's second annual Rally/Tour take place. After last years successful inaugural event in North Yorkshire, this time we went for the somewhat flatter countryside of North Norfolk. Ten cars took part in the main Sunday event but eight were present for the entire weekend and took a trip together from our "base" location of Cawston to Sheringham on Saturday, later cruising north up the coast.
The main Sunday event was brilliantly organised by Nigel Coverdale - husband of Maize Yellow car drive Raffi. The instructions and organisation of stops and lunch were superb - thank you Nigel for your considerable efforts.
We headed south east from Cawston, then across towards the coast stopping for lunch at the Lighthouse Inn - named after the Hapisburgh Lighthouse - a point of interest on our route. Then it was back up north to Cromer before a final photoshoot opportunity outside the National Trust property of Blickling Hall. Despite temperatures upward of 30 degrees C, all the cars made it without incident over the near 100 mile cruise. Strangely, although not planned, all the cars taking part were pre-facelift models. Take note for next year facelift car owners!
