For the 2025 National Day we travelled to East Kirkby in Lincolnshire, the home of the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre and more particularly, the home of iconic Lancaster bomber, "Just Jane".  Like many of us, the good people at East Kirkby are progressing a mammoth restoration task as they attempt to get "Just Jane" airworthy and, hopefully, joining her locally based Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) cousin in the skies.  Conningsby, the base of the BBMF is around 10 miles down the road.

For once the weather gods were on our side and a pleasant but not too hot day allowed members attending to enjoy the museum as well as chat with fellow club members and get a few great shots - especially with the Lancaster.

For most of the day the hanger doors were closed but, by pre arrangement, around 2.30pm the doors were opened and we were allowed to line up our vehicles in front of the World War 2 icon.

A total of 22 Capri Mk1s attended along with a pedal car variant and a Mk3.
