What a magnificent turnout for our 2021 National Day at Shuttleworth (Bedfordshire) on Sunday 8th August. The weather wasn't perfect but it could have been much more unkind than it was - with the rain holding off apart from a few drops throughout the whole day. Despite the threat of inclement weather, our Club members relished the opportunity to get their cars out and the wheels rolling again after such a difficult year and a half.
A total of 34 Mk1s were on show and several more members attended in either other classics or their everyday transport as, for one reason or another, they were unable to come in their Capris.
The facilities at Shuttleworth are excellent and with the vintage aircraft (spread over six hangers), a smattering of vintage cars and motorcyles plus the wonderfully relaxing and tranquil Swiss Gardens and parkland to explore, there was plenty to do and see. Many though relished the opportunity of chatting to old friends and making new as a number of the vehicles on show were making their first appearance at a Club event.
Enjoy the huge gallery of pictures which hopefully will give you a taste of the event.
