Raffi got her capri in 2012. The car’s history is she was bought during one of the many the Ford strikes. A solicitor got involved to get her out of the factory as her new owner had paid the deposit then the strike happened. He clearly was a dedicated Capri owner and kept every single piece of paper associated with her – MOTs; service; parts receipts; even part numbers written on scrap pieces of cornflakes box; Service book; handbook; and original sale tag on the keyrings. She originated from the Broadspeed Garage in Batley Yorkshire.
Sadly her owner passed away and she was left to his brother who was the Editor of Classic Bike Magazine. She featured in his mag, being raced against a Kawasaki motorbike (and losing). He continued to keep all of her paperwork. After he passed away it was left to a grandson who let her rot and was eventually sold to a guy in March, Cambridgeshire. He started to restore her then wanted to spend his time and money on a Mexico Escort so sold her partly restored at £8500.
Over the years I have finished the work he started with a very good mechanic and amazing help from Kevin and Glyn! In 2018 she finally had a back to bare metal respray at a cost of £9500.
