The NEC Classic Motor Show proved to be hugely successful for both our Club and our friends, the Capri Mk2 Register.
The decision to provide a combined display for the paying public proved a hit with many taking the time to comment that they felt the stand was one of the best in the show.
Its always nice to hear appreciation and a fitting reward for the efforts of all involved - not least the intrepid individuals who got their cars to the show from many miles away in what was largely appalling weather conditions on "set-up Thursday".
Both Clubs recruited new members and our own Club broke records in the number of calendars we sold.
We had five cars on the stand - although there were a further four Club members cars on display elsewhere in the show.
Four early cars reflected the models and colours available at launch - with the stand decorated as a launch day car showroom (lashings of orange and yellow).
A Silver Fox 1300L, a Fern Green 1600L, a Red 1600GT XLR, an Amber Gold 2000GT XLR and a Sebring Red 3000 GXL completed our side of the display. The Mk2s were a Diamond White 3000 Ghia, a Stardust Silver 1600XL, a Black 3000 Special (JPS) and a Diamond White 3000S.
The pictures tell the story....
