The Club (and the show organisers) have enjoyed another successful Classic Motor Show at the NEC, Birmingham from Friday 7th to Sunday 10th November.
Whilst the work for the show began many months ago, Thursday 6th November was the day we all travelled up from various points to set up and populate the Club stand.
Once again we decided to have no barriers between ourselves and our friends the Capri Mk2 Register. This seemed to go down well with the public and certainly gave an overall more impressive feel to the display of cars.
My thanks to Glenn (Copper Bronze 3000GXL), Jeff (Daytona Yellow 3000GT XLR) and Simon (Tawny 1600GT XLR) for displaying their cars. Thanks also to Alan & Diane, Duncan, Gill and Jeff for setting up and helping man the stand throughout the show.
Visitors were able to see more Mk1s elsewhere with an Amber Gold 2000GT XLR and a Modena Green RS3100 on the CCI Mansfield & Notts stand and three Piri Piri Red Peranas on the Perana Owners stand. In the auction in Hall 2 there was a Silver RS3100, an Ermine White 2000GT XLR and a Sunset Red 1600XL.
Over 72,000 visitors attended during the three open days.
