Barry’s Mk1 Capri is registration number 811.  It is a 2 litre V4 GT.  It was taken new to the island of St Helena in about 1970 by someone working for the Diplomatic Wireless Service who sold it to a local when his contract concluded.  It has spent most of its life in a garage - used for just a few weeks a year when the owner returned from Ascension Island where he worked when he took his annual leave.  Barry saw the car regularly whilst playing golf and decided then he wanted it and a few years later it became available and he bought it.  That was about 6 years ago.  Originally it was yellow but it is now red.  The photographs were taken back in 2019 when the German car magazine Auto BILD and Auto BILD Klassic sent a journalist to feature the many classic cars on the island; the feature appeared in the February 2020 editions in Germany.
