MRT128K - 1600XL - Special Order Vehicle

Peter from the Chelmsford area of Essex has owned capris for many years.  His present example is a sapphire blue 1600XL pre-facelift model.

He purchased the car in March 2000, his son having seen it advertised on his company's notice board.  This is no ordinary example though.  It was a Special Order vehicle with up-rated suspension; a tow bar fitted from new, along with a sunroof; black vinyl roof; and blue upholstery.

The car had two previous owners with the second having it for less than a year - from April 1999 to March 2000.  To date - May 2006 - the car has covered just 40,383 miles.  A glance at the condition of the interior bears out the low mileage.  Whilst the car has never undergone a major restoration, like so many vehicles of the period, it has had both front wings replaced and has also had a complete respray.

Peter's 1971 registered 1600XL

A sapphire blue car with black vinyl roof and a sunroof added.

Rostyle wheels but the rare slotted variety.

The car was built with towing in mind so this towbar has been a fixture from new.

The car sports a pristine perfect original blue interior.

It's pretty clean under the bonnet too. Note the extra label on the drivers side inner wing.

Close inspection of the extra label demonstrates the car's pedigree.
