MRT128K - 1600XL - Special Order Vehicle
Peter from the Chelmsford area of Essex has owned capris for many years.
His present
example is a sapphire blue 1600XL pre-facelift model.
He purchased the car in March 2000, his son having seen it advertised on his
company's notice board. This is no ordinary example though. It was a
Special Order vehicle with up-rated suspension; a tow bar fitted from new, along
with a sunroof; black vinyl roof; and blue upholstery.
The car had two previous owners with the second having it for less than a
year - from April 1999 to March 2000. To date - May 2006 - the car has
covered just 40,383 miles. A glance at the condition of the interior bears
out the low mileage. Whilst the car has never undergone a major
restoration, like so many vehicles of the period, it has had both front wings
replaced and has also had a complete respray.

The car was built with towing in mind so this towbar has been a fixture from new. |

It's pretty clean under the bonnet too. Note the extra label on the drivers side inner wing. |
